Celebrating Another Remarkable Year at Whitehill Primary

As we reach the end of another school year, we want to begin with a heartfelt thank you to all of our amazing children for making Whitehill Primary such a positive, vibrant and joyful place to be. It is a privilege to watch you overcome challenges, grow in confidence and continue to develop into the wonderful young people you are becoming.

This time of year always brings a sense of excitement mixed with emotion, as we say farewell to our Year 6 students. Every year, they impress us with their maturity, kindness and achievements – and this year is no exception. We truly could not be prouder.

One of our Year 6 students captured the spirit of this journey beautifully in the poem below, which we feel perfectly reflects what a remarkable group they are:

Whitehill Primary, where we grew,
In colours proud – white and blue.
From tiny hands and timid hearts,
To knowing where a journey starts.

We learned to count, we learned to spell,
We shared our dreams, we sometimes fell.
But every stumble helped us rise,
With friends and teachers kind and wise.

The playground laughs, the classroom chats,
Our coats on pegs, our shoes on mats.
The songs we sang, the books we read,
The brilliant things our teachers said.

We’ve painted rainbows, built tall towers,
Waited through those rainy showers.
We’ve raced, we’ve played, we’ve cheered our teams,
We’ve built our futures from our dreams.

And though it’s time to say goodbye,
We’ll keep Whitehill forever nigh.
In blue and white, we’ll walk away,
But carry it with us every day.

So here’s to laughter, here’s to tears,
To all our fun and growing years.
Thank you, Whitehill – now we go,
To shine, to learn, to thrive, to grow.

To our Year 6s – please remember that our doors are always open. We look forward to hearing about your achievements, your dreams and the exciting journeys ahead. You are a brilliant group of individuals, and with continued encouragement, belief and determination, we know you will go on to accomplish incredible things.

We would also like to express our gratitude to the entire Whitehill Team for the kindness, understanding and devotion you show our children every single day. This year has been filled with many memorable firsts – including Forest School, the STEAM Fair, concerts and Art Exhibitions – and we couldn’t be more proud of what our community has accomplished together.

Here’s to the year we’ve shared, the memories we’ve made, and the bright futures still to come.
